The ESN; Wedding Bells & Echoes

Elm Springs News

On Friday afternoon, a huge ferocious looking thunderstorm toenailed across Elm Springs, leaving .60 inches of rain at the “Big House” and 2 inches at the Lynn and Sandy Fields residence.

Several of the kind citizens attended the ordination of Father Tyler Dennis at the Cathedral in Rapid City Friday night.

And several of the kind cititzens (perhaps mostly women) attended Beth Wilson’s bridal shower at the Elm Springs Fire Hall Saturday morning.

The WTL Club met at the “Upland Trask” residence Wednesday afternoon, where they took great pains to faithfully recreate a photograph of the 1927 WTL Club sitting on the back porch of what was then the Ed Shoblom house, which was later bought by Mark and Winnie Trask.  Those in attendance besides RoseMary Trask and her girls, were Jean, Kellie, Shirrise, Emily and Kassandra Linn, Caroline Wilsey, Sandy Fields, and Sally Cronin.

Marvin and Carolyn Anders welcomed guests from Yankton over the week.  The guests enjoyed mule riding (they brought their own mules) a late branding, and a campout.

On Sunday Marvin and Carolyn attended the dedication of the Quinn Community Center in Quinn.

Mike and Terry Karrels of Terry MT visited the Lonnie Arneson residence Saturday evening for supper and spent Saturday night.

Lawrence and Doris Burke went to Sturgis and Spearfish on business Thursday, stopping in Rapid City on the way back to visit PFC Skyler Burke, who left Friday morning.

Larry and Peggy Gravatt went to Rapid City Wednesday to watch Steele Fuegen’s baseball game.  On Thursday, Peggy and Teddy the Pomeranian Poodle went to Rapid City for haircuts.  While Peggy came back looking suave and sophisticated, poor Teddy returned without hair or dignity.  Peggy went to Rapid City Sunday to take her dad and step sister out for lunch.

Bob and Mary Linn of Texas arrived at the “Big House” Thursday to spend the weekend.  On Sunday, all of the Linns went to the Hart Ranch near Rapid City to help Charlie and Carol Linn celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Shirrise Linn attended a stamp party in Rapid City on Monday, visiting Grandma Arlene Talley on the way home.  Kassandra spent Tuesday night at the “Big House.”  Bunny Bail and Karen Delbridge stopped by the Morris Linn residence to visit Wednesday afternoon.  The Morris Linns visited Bob and Mary Linn at the “Big House” on Friday, and Sharon, Matthew and Micheal Larson were overnight guests at the Morris Linn residence Friday night.

Matt Trask and Ryan Burkinshaw visited the Al Trask residence briefly Wednesday afternoon.

It should be noted that the lovely Bonnie Timmons learned Monday morning that she had

in fact passed her state nursing test, and is now a full-fledged nurse.  Matt Trask spent Sunday night at the Timmons residence.  Matt went to Rapid City both Friday and Saturday, and Saturday afternoon he attended Father Tyler Dennis’ second Mass in Red Owl.  Matt Trask visited the Robert and Cindy Dennis residence Sunday.

Visitors at the “Upland Trask” residence included Sally Cronin,  Tom Bruch, and Morris Linn.  On Sunday the “Upland Trasks” attended  the party for Charlie and Carol Linn before visiting the Joe and Dawn Kovarik residence south of Rapid City.

Beth Wilson and David Laschinger  of Minneapolis arrived at Philip Wilson residence on Thursday and spent the remainder of the week.

And Tyler, Saber and Tracy Wilson arrived at the Kenny Wilson residence on Friday.  On Sunday they helped Janet Wilson celebrate her birthday with the Justin Tschetter’s also in attendance.

Melvin and Dorothy Anderson went to the Alpine Inn near Hill City for supper Wednesday night to celebrate Dorothy’s birthday.  On Saturday they went to Nisland, where they attended the Brian Mills/Codi Vallery wedding.

The kind citizens are sure enjoying putting up this hay!
