The ESN; Summer

Elm Springs News

The kind citizens have been working around the rains and breakdowns to get their hay put up.  Other than that, most of the news is of the general variety.

For instance, virtually all of the kind citizens attended either the Wall Celebration over the weekend, or Terry Schell’s 50th birthday party in Wasta, or the “Upland Trask” Ronald Reagan picnic, both on Saturday.

Belva Reilly and family of Spokane WA stayed at the Marvin Anders residence most of the week.

Clyde Arneson attended Bill Munroe’s arraignment at the Meade County Courthouse in Sturgis on Friday.  On Saturday the Clyde Arnesons went to the Elk Creek Steakhouse for supper to celebrate Connie’s birthday.

The Ryan Elsheres spent Saturday night at the Bill Eastman residence near Belle Fourche, where Carter competed in the 4-H rodeo Sunday.

Kellie Linn left Friday for a QE Seminar in Spearfish, returning Sunday.

Clyde Arneson visited the Morris Linn residence Monday morning.  Shirrise and Kassandra went to Rapid City on Wednesday, and Shirrise returned to Rapid City Friday to have lunch with Lauren Langdeau of Presho.  Jack, Scott and Bummer Simons visited the Morris Linn residence Saturday evening, and Bummer spent the night.

The Al Trasks made a flying trip to Sioux City IA on business Sunday.

The “Upland Trasks” spent most of the week preparing for the picnic.  Emil Magnuson and his granddaughter Emily of Rapid City visited Wednesday, and Elmer Lewis and Bill Poppin of DeSmet visited Thursday.  On Saturday night, Sally Cronin and Dusty Hall of Mud Butte and Muriel Kjerstad of Wall spent the night at the “Upland Trask” residence.  Nick and Julie Trask and Muriel Kjerstad attended the Dakota Rural Action Local Foods Summit in Rapid City on Sunday.

Jim and Caroline Wilsey, Zach Wilsey of Greensboro NC, and Leland Konstanty of Houston TX went camping in the Black Hills Sunday night.

Kenny and Janet Wilson went for a motorcycle excursion in the Black Hills Sunday, where they were met by Philip Wilson, who also went for a motorcycle excursion in the Black Hills.

On Monday, Melvin and Dorothy Anderson met Sherry Ward and Kirsten, Blythe and six week old Nohl Keiko at Minerva’s in Rapid City. Sherry and the Keikos of Aurora CO were on their way to Bowman ND.

The kind citizens hope this humidity goes away.
