The ESN; Not Much
April 28, 2008
For no particular reason, the kind citizens just didn’t do much socializing this week. Perhaps they were resting up before May begins.
Several of the kind citizens attended the Dave Stover auction near Owanka on Saturday.
And at least one kind citizen attended the Sundquist/Brown auction in Wall on Saturday.
We begin the ESN this week with Larry and Peggy Gravatt. Peggy Gravatt and Maria Trask spent Thursday night in Spearfish where they had lots of fun before Maria competed in the Special Olympics on Friday. Maria was also selected to carry the torch partway around the track, which she was very proud to do. After Special Olympics, Larry and Peggy left for Denver CO, where they spent the weekend with Mike and Amber Miller. Management of the Gravatt ranch was left in the hands of Brad Bookbinder, who spent the weekend in Elm Springs.
The Sam Johnstons went to Wall Friday, where they visited the “Big Green Trask House” before attending the Wall Rodeo Club fundraiser at the arena.
The Andy Linns left Saturday for Ft. Pierre, where Ben and Jacob competed at the State 4-H shooting competition, Jake with bb’s and Ben with bb’s and pellets. In addition, the Linns attended the horse races in Ft. Pierre before returning Sunday.
Shirrise Linn visited the Jack Simons residence near Enning Tuesday. Wednesday was Kassandra’s birthday, which she celebrated in the company of Clyde Arneson, Roger Shull of Creighton, and Gene Pluth of Rapid City, who were all supper guests at the Morris Linn residence. Kassandra received a cousin for her birthday- Madison Jo Simons was born Wednesday night to Bummer and Jodi Simons of Enning. Shirrise and Kassandra went to Rapid City Saturday to help Laura Wilsey celebrate her 13th birthday at a swimming pool and visit Grandma Arlene Talley. Apparently one cousin in a week wasn’t enough for Kassandra, because she received a second on Sunday when Athena Elizabeth Simons was born to Sanden and Elaine Simons of Wall. Sheryll and Alyssa Oberlander visited the Morris Linn residence Sunday afternoon.
John and Jean Linn went to Rapid City Saturday to attend Laura and Katie Wilsey’s piano recital.
The Al Trasks visited the John Wulf residence Saturday evening after Mass.
Jon Madsen of Rapid City and Jim Anderson of Hermosa visited the “Upland Trask” residence on Wednesday. RoseMary and Celine Trask attended Special Olympics in Spearfish on Friday, the same day that Joe returned from New York City. Bonnie Schwartzkopf and Stacey Burnhardt of Ft. Collins CO arrived at the “Upland Trask” residence Friday night to spend the weekend. The “Upland Trasks” went to Rapid City Saturday night to take part in Steph Trask’s well attended housewarming party. On Sunday, District 29 senatorial candidate Nick Trask attended a picnic at the Paul Schultes residence near Marcus.
Amanda Humphrey brought Lainee Mae to the Cary Tines residence Friday afternoon, and she spent most of the weekend.
Mary Kay Wilson left Sunday for Sioux Falls, where she was a judge at the state FCCLA convention.
The kind citizens hope you have a wonderful week.
