The ESN; Mother’s Day

May 13, 2008

Elm Springs received two more rainshowers during the week, with end of the week moisture totals at 1.73 inches, much to the relief and delight of the kind citizens.

All the moisture made travel difficult again, but the roads had dried out enough by Sunday that the kind mothers could be wined and dined somewhere for Mother’s Day.

The Marvin Anders’ and the Rod Anders’ attended rodeos in Wall on Saturday and New Underwood on Sunday.

Matt, Nick and Joe Trask and Bunny Bail and girls were Tuesday supper guests at the Rod Anders residence.

Clyde Arneson accompanied Connie and Chase to Wall on Sunday, where Chase treated his mother to dinner for Mother’s Day. We don’t know who payed for Clyde’s dinner, or if he even got to eat.

Melissa Burke of Rapid City accompanied Lawrence and Doris Burke to dinner in Wall and touring the Badlands on Mother’s Day.

The Ryan Elsheres and Clyde Arneson went to the Gary Wilken bull sale in Faith on Monday. Saturday night, the Ryan Elsheres joined the JJ Elsheres, the Bill Eastmans and Marcia Arneson in Rapid City for early Mother’s Day supper.

Marilyn Hanson of North Carolina arrived at the Larry Gravatt residence Wednesday afternoon. Thursday, Peggy Gravatt and Marilyn left for Deadwood where they stayed until Saturday. Marilyn returned to North Carolina while Peggy returned to Elm Springs. Meanwhile back at the ranch, as they say, Matt and Joe Trask visited Friday afternoon, Matt leaving in his automobile and Joe leaving on a horse.

Cary Johnston took Carson, Carlee and Savana and Ben and Emily Linn to a movie in Rapid City Friday night for Carson and Carlee’s birthday. On Sunday, the Sam Johnstons attended the rodeo in New Underwood before visiting the Roger and Tammy Bills residence for dinner. After dinner, the Johnstons visited the Norma Pellegrin residence in New Underwood for cake and ice cream to celebrate Carson and Carlee’s birthdays again. They were joined by Milton and Twila Trask of Wall.

Morris Linn accompanied Andy Linn and kids to the Kathleen Shull residence near Crieghton on Sunday.

John, Jean and Jim Linn went to Rapid City Saturday night for Laura and Katie Wilsey’s dance recital.

Kassandra Linn visited the Bunny Bail residence Wednesday after school, while Morris went to Pierre with Roger Shull. Shirrise Linn and Cheryl Simons had dinner at the Sanden Simons residence in Wall on Thursday. Saturday night after Laura and Katie Wilsey’s dance recital, Morris took Shirrise out to supper in Rapid City for Mother’s Day.

Sunday visitors at the Morris Linn residence were Monte and Ann Simons of Colorado, the Brian Walkers of Union Center, the Bummer Simons’, the Scott Simons’, and Jack and Grandma Margaret Simons.

The Cary Tines’ joined a host of family and friends at the Kay Williamson residence in New Underwood for Mother’s Day Sunday.

Matt Trask visited Al and Bridget’s Castle Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Bridget and Little Pat visited the “Upland Trask” residence Tuesday afternoon. The Al Trasks toured the Black Hills for Mother’s Day.

Nick and Matt Trask and Gary Deering of Hereford went to Wall and Philip Wednesday on business. John Paul Trask arrived at the “Upland Trask” residence Friday night, after visiting Brian Harer of Newton, WI and the Don Doerrs of MN on his way home from St. Mary’s in Winona, MN. Saturday night, Steph Trask arrived from Brookings, and the “Upland Trasks” had a birthday party for Austin Trask, with the Al Trasks and Ray Olson in attendance. Most of the “Upland Trasks” visited Roughlock Falls for Mother’s Day. Other visitors at the “Upland Trask” residence during the week included Jim Beastrom of Pierre, Hugh Ingalls of Faith, and Sean Troxel.

Matt Trask attended a birthday party for Roald Mitchell at the Mitchell residence south of Dupree on Sunday.

Jim and Caroline Wilsey went to Rapid City on Friday, to have lunch with granddaughter Ashley Wilsey, visiting from WI. Bunny Bail and girls were Saturday night supper guests at the Jim Wilsey residence. Jim and Caroline went to Rapid City Sunday, where they had Mother’s Day dinner and picked up the vehicle they had loaned Ashley during her visit.

The Kenny Wilsons joined family and friends at the Justin and Mandy Tschetter residence on Sunday for Mother’s Day.

Mary Kay Wilson arrived home Thursday from the Rest Area Tour. Pam Wilson returned to Elm Springs Sunday from Brookings, and the Philip Wilsons visited the Tschetter residence for Mother’s Day.

Melvin Anderson took Dorothy and “the neighbor lady” out to dinner in Rapid City for Mother’s Day.

This Sunday, the 18th, the Elm Springs Church will hold it’s last service for the season.

The kind citizens hope your mother had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
