The ESN Graduation Special

Like they always do this time of year, the temperature and the social calendar are starting to heat up here in Elm Springs.
Graduation season was in full swing over the weekend, and the kind citizens attended graduations and receptions in droves. Wall High School’s graduation was Saturday, where kind young citizens Baxter Anders and Joe Trask graduated, while young Clay Tines graduated from New Underwood on the same day. Sunday, young Mark Trask graduated from Philip High School. In addition, there were myriad parties and receptions to attend, including a reception at the Elm Springs Hall on Sunday to honor Baxter Anders, Clay Tines, and Joe Trask.
Meade County Rally Day was Friday in Sturgis, and the Elm Springs schoolchildren and their parents attended.
The Elm Springs Fire Board held a meeting at the Fire Hall Tuesday night.
Clyde Arneson went to Sturgis on business Thursday, and got home just in time to entertain Jim Wilsey.
Lawrence Burke left Tuesday for Texas to visit relatives. Melissa Burke of Rapid City spent the week at the Lawrence Burke residence in his absence.
Ryan and Chrissy Elshere left Sunday for Miles City, MT where Ryan competed in the Matched Bronc Ride at the legendary Bucking Horse Sale.
John and Jean Linn visited the Larry Gravatt residence Thursday. On Saturday, Larry and Peggy went to Rapid City to watch Steele Fuegen’s first baseball game of the season. After the baseball game, they went out for belated Mother’s Day dinner with Brad Bookbinder and Jessica Harstad.
The Sam Johnstons attended the Belle Fourche High School graduation on Saturday to watch Colin Cling graduate, and went to Buffalo on Sunday where the delightfully named Echo Promise Johnston graduated from Harding County High School.
Morris and Andy Linn went to a farm sale west of Mobridge on Monday. Morris had dinner with Gene Pluth in Rapid City on Tuesday.
Gary Smith spent the week helping Jim and Myrna before he leaves for Gilette, WY.
Matt and Julie Trask visited Al and Bridget’s Castle Wednesday morning. The Al Trasks attended a party at the Tim Sullivan residence in Rapid City Sunday afternoon.
Matt Trask joined Lorraine and Bart Williamsen at the John Wulf residence Sunday after church, before accompanying Darlene Wulf to Elm Springs.
Weekend visitors at the “Upland Trask” residence included George Leonard of Elkader, IA, Katie Legg of Deaver, WY, and Steph Trask of Rapid City. George Leonard visited the Hank Bruch residence near Bear Butte Sunday afternoon.
Mike and Terry Karrels of Terry, MT visited the “Elk Creek Trask” residence over the weekend.
The Tyler Wilsons of Newcastle WY arrived at the Kenny Wilson residence Friday to spend the weekend.
The Wulf Twins, Wade and Ward, accompanied by their friend Sean Meinen, left Thursday for Hawaii.
The Elm Springs Memorial Day Program will be Monday, the 26th of May at two pm. This years’ MC, Miss Julie Trask, is looking for additional participants to round out the program. If you would like to be a part of the Elm Springs Memorial Day Program, please email Julie- juliekbhb@hotmail.com.
