The ESN; Cool Weather
The weather was very wet and cool this week, causing the kind citizens to dig their jackets out of their closets. Sunday was very windy.
Several of the kind citizens went to Wall Friday night, where the Wall football team soundly drubbed the New Underwood team.
Marvin and Carolyn Anders had supper Thursday night with Clint and Marilyn Lineberry of Sioux City in Wall. On Friday Carolyn returned to Wall where she met with Jo Strong, Lucy Bradley and Helen Kinkade for a trip through the Badlands.
Galen Neiderwerder visited the Lawrence Burke residence Wednesday, and Clyde Arneson was a coffee visitor Saturday morning.
The Ryan Elsheres went to Rapid City on Saturday, where among other things they had supper with the Justin Tschetters of Rapid City. Sunday afternoon, Cary and Savanna Johnston and the Andy Linns visited the Ryan Elshere residence.
Peggy Gravatt went to Rapid City Tuesday to take her dad Ray Jondro out to lunch. On Thursday, after leaving their dogs at the “doggie hotel” Larry and Peggy left for Denver CO, where they watched Abigail and Grant Miller while their parents went to a wedding. While in Denver, they visited the Denver Zoo. Larry and Peggy left Sunday to return to Elm Springs.
The Sam Johnstons attended the Football Jamboree in White River on Saturday, where Carson played.
The Andy Linns also attended the Football Jamboree in White River, because Ben played.
John and Jean Linn went to Rapid City Monday morning to meet Jean’s cousins Billie from Oregon and Patty from Denver at Perkins. Billie and Patty later visited Charlie and Carol Linn and the Wilseys.
Shirrise hosted a Stampin’ Up! Appreciation Party on Monday. Kassandra began piano lessons in Wall on Wednesday. Jack Simons and Clyde Arneson were supper guests Thursday evening at the Morris Linn residence. And Kassandra attended a birthday party for Tally Jackson in Enning on Saturday.
David Smith arrived in Elm Springs Thursday to visit the Jim Smith residence.
Becky and Celine Trask visited the Cary Tines residence Thursday evening.
Emil and Jake Magnuson of Rapid City and Matt Trask visited the Al Trask residence Wednesday morning. Pat and Gemma Trask visited the Al Trask residence Sunday morning, and RoseMary and Austin Trask visited Sunday evening.
Matt Trask visited the John Timmons residence Wednesday. On Thursday Aaron Humphrey of Marion, SD and Tim and Linda Haugen met Matt at the “Upland Trask” residence to help him drive Amos and Andy on the wagon. Saturday Matt visited the Tommy Carter residence in Wasta to help the band Saints Perdition record a song.
The “Upland Trasks” hosted Tom and Pete Bruch most of the week. Joe Trask returned from Brookings on Saturday for the weekend.
Brandon Wilsey visited the Jim Wilsey residence Monday evening for supper. Jim and Caroline left Wednesday for the Black Hills where among other things they viewed the lighting ceremony at Mt. Rushmore, returning home Saturday.
Mary Kay Wilson left Friday for Brookings, where she and Pam shopped for wedding dresses. On Saturday, Philip joined Mary Kay at the SD Tourism end of summer party in Mitchell.
Kenny and Janet Wilson, accompanied by Philip Wilson and Gerald and Michaela Neiderwerder, attended the end of summer party in Mitchell as well. Kenny and Janet and the Neiderwerders returned Sunday.
