The ESN; Anniversaries
After successfully circulating a petition, the kind citizens changed the scheduled of the Elm Springs School so that classes now start at 8:00 am and finish at 2:45 pm. Monday was the first day of the new schedule, and the parents seemed to be more excited about it than the children were.
Several of the kind citizens attended the football game in Wall Friday night, where Wall defeated Kadoka.
Carolyn Anders and Pam Bachand spent the weekend in the Black Hills. On Sunday, Marvin went to Sturgis to attend Harold Bowers’ 95th birthday party.
Clyde Arneson went to New Underwood Wednesday where he donated blood.
“Well, Clyde was here one day, but we can’t remember which one,” said Doris Burke. She could remember that Myrna Smith visited the Lawrence Burke residence Thursday afternoon.
Ryan Elshere accompanied brother JJ to rodeos in Bowman, ND and Little Falls, MN over the weekend.
Larry and Peggy Gravatt returned from Sioux Falls Monday night, after successfully moving Brad Bookbinder and his possessions. They happened to encounter Larry’s sister Cherry and her husband Byron Denke in Sioux Falls Monday morning, so the Gravatts and the Denkes had breakfast together. Marion Case celebrated her birthday Wednesday with supper at the Larry Gravatt residence. Peggy and Ray Jondro went to Sturgis Thursday for appointments and lunch. And Chase and Jerry Gravatt, Dirk Boomsa and Neil Lutke all visited the Gravatt residence Saturday.
Shirrise Linn and Jack Simons returned from Rochester, MN Monday, and Jack spent Monday night at the Morris Linn residence. Clyde Arneson was a dinner guest at the Morris Linn residence Wednesday, and Grandma Jean Linn took Kassandra to Wall for her piano lesson. The Morris Linns had supper at the Ryan Elshere residence Friday night. Kassandra spent Saturday at the “Big House,” while Shirisse joined Chrissy Elshere at the Sam Johnston residence for a Girls Bonfire with Cary Johnston. Chrissy Elshere was a Sunday morning coffee visitor at the Morris Linn residence, Jim Linn visited mid-morning, Grandma Arlene Talley and Dayton Shannon were dinner guests, and Matt Trask arrived Sunday night to help Morris watch the football game.
Jim and Myrna Smith were accompanied by Maxine Smith to Lois Shearn’s birthday party in Philip. On the return trip, they were joined by RoseMary Trask, who ripped a page from Matt’s playbook and had herself dropped off at the party in hopes that she would find a ride back.
Matt Trask was a Saturday morning coffee visitor at Al and Bridget’s Castle. Sunday, the Al Trasks attended the Mass and celebration of Bishop Blase Cupich’s ten- year anniversary in Rapid City.
Matt Trask visited the John Timmons residence Wednesday evening. On Saturday evening, he and Bonnie Timmons went to the Black Hills Community Theatre’s production of “On Golden Pond” at the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City.
RoseMary Trask returned early Monday morning from her retreat, with stops in Beresford to see Kay Ann Elfrink and Alexandri to see Sr. Maria Magdalena. Monday night visitors were Sam Heikes, Mike Bergmann, Joe Carter, Morris and Andy Linn and Clyde Arneson. Sam Heikes and Mike Bergmann stayed overnight and left Tuesday. Wednesday visitors were Doug and Debbie Reif of West Virginia. Joe Carter left Wednesday afternoon. Laramie Opstedahl and Molly Perkins visited the “Upland Trask” residence Thursday morning, and Matt Trask visited the Laramie Opstedahl residence Thursday afternoon. Joe and Steph Trask arrived home together from Brookings Friday night after dropping cousin Mark off in Philip. Both “Upland Trasks” spent the weekend, before Steph returned to Rapid City and Joe, with Mark, set out for Brookings. RoseMary Trask, as has been noted, attended Lois Shearn’s birthday party Sunday afternoon in Philip.
Kenny Wilson accompanied Philip and Mary Kay Wilson to Ray and Pat Kasiah’s wedding anniversary in Rapid City Saturday afternoon.
The kind citizens hope you have a wonderful week.
