The weather has been delightful here in Elm Springs, and although the kind citizens have not received any more rain, they continue to enjoy the milder temperatures.

Carolyn Anders joined sisters Kay Abbott and Twila Trask on a trip to Spokane, WA Saturday to visit sister Belva Reilly.

The Elm Springs Rebels basketball teams began practice Wednesday in Union Center, with Sam Johnston and Andy Linn as coaches.

Clyde Arneson visited the Matt Sandal residence near Cottonwood Friday. On Saturday, Clyde and Connie went to Belle Fourche to see Gladys Arneson and Ray and Millie Schmidt and attend a going away party for a nephew at the Schmidt residence.

John and Kathy Tuxford of Rapid City were Wednesday visitors at the Lawrence Burke residence. Also on Wednesday, Clyde Arneson helped Lawrence tow his tractor to the Red Owl Garage.

Ryan and Chrissy Elshere hosted JJ and Lindsay Elshere and James Willert for supper on Thursday night, and they got to keep their nephew Thane until Saturday. On Sunday the Elsheres traveled to Philip to attend an Elshere/Arthur family potluck. Back at home Sunday night, the Elsheres hosted Cory Levine and Clint Hammerstrom.

Sandy Fields went to Rapid City Wednesday, where she had lunch with her mother Carmen Agner.

Brad Bookbinder returned to the Gravatt Ranch from his visit to Florida on Thursday.

Carlee and Savanna Johnston were joined by Emily Linn for the first piano lesson of the year in Rapid City Tuesday.

Andy and Morris and the Linn children took Matt Trask along on a visit to the Roger and Kathleen Shull residences near Creighton Saturday.

John and Jean Linn returned from the Excel fall Campout at Jack’s Campers near Piedmont Sunday. On Saturday they toured the Ft. Meade Museum and attended John’s class reunion.

Scott and Jared Simons and Clyde Arneson were dinner guests at the Morris Linn residence Monday. Shirrise spent Thursday at the Shelane Graham residence. Morris and Shirrise went to Rapid City Friday to run errands, while Kassandra spent the afternoon at the Sam Johnston residence.

Pat and Julie Trask returned Tuesday night from Colorado, where they had been searching for a place for Julie to live. Matt, Nick and Julie Trask attended the Tom Clements/Lacey Gunn wedding dance in Wall Tuesday night. Joe and Austin Trask spent the weekend in turns at the “Big Green Trask House” in Wall with Uncle Milton, and several other “Upland Trasks” visited him Sunday night.

Al and Bridget Trask left Friday morning for northern Iowa to pick up a horse trailer and while they were there, visited Bridget’s dad Patrick Madrid, who was in Dubuque on business.

Jim and Caroline Wilsey returned Monday from Brandon, where they attended the wedding of their granddaughter Kaci Wilsey to Jarrid Thomas. Thursday night, the Wilseys joined Melvin and Dorothy Anderson for supper at the Bud Pauley residence. And Sunday, Jim and Caroline took a drive through the Black Hills.

Philip, Mary Kay, Kenny and Patrick Wilson joined John and Darlene Wulf, Dan Turgeon and two friends, Bruce and Linda Kroetch, Dave, Judy, Todd and Lisa Custis and Clay Weaver on a motorcycle tour of South Dakota and Wyoming Monday to celebrate Labor Day.

Sean Troxel has returned to the “Brustol AFB” from his stay in South Carolina, where he was prevented from joining the Army because of a medical condition.

The kind citizens hope it stays cool.
