It has become unbearably hot in Elm Springs once again, which makes us think maybe nothing has changed after all.

Most of the kind ladies of the neighborhood attended a baby shower for Bridget Trask on Friday at the Elm Springs Fire Hall. Al and Matt Trask also made an appearance, Al because he is the husband and Matt because there was cake.

The Rod Anders’ spent the weekend in Belle Fourche at the State High School Rodeo where Baxter and Dunny competed.

Clyde Arneson accompanied Lonnie, Dannie and Bobbi Ann Arneson to the Pete and Donna Buer residence near Belle Fourche Thursday for an afternoon visit.

Lawrence and Doris Burke attended the Black Hills Bluegrass Festival at Mystery Mountain Resort Saturday night.

Ryan Elshere, accompanied by Brandon West of Philip, hit the rodeo trail on Thursday, with stops in Buffalo, MN, Clear Lake, SD, Granite Falls, MN and Strasbourg, ND.

Larry and Peggy Gravatt had a big week. RoseMary and Maria Trask stopped at the Larry Gravatt residence Monday to wish Peggy a happy birthday. Tuesday, the Gravatts went to Rapid City to visit Jack Gravatt, who is back at the Victorian and doing well. On Wednesday, Susie Cuppy and friend Phyllis of Mitchell drove to Wall to take Peggy out to lunch at Wall Drug for her birthday. On Saturday, Larry and Peggy went out to supper in Rapid City and then went to the Elvis Tribute Concert at the Civic Center. Peggy is the proud owner of a silk scarf worn by Elvis Presley which she caught at a concert. And on Sunday, Chase Gravatt came out to help Larry with the ranch work.

Sam and Carson Johnston went to Colony, WY Wednesday, while Calder played in a summer league basketball game in Wall Wednesday night.

Kellie Linn took Ben and Emily, Celine Trask and Tucker O’Rourke to 4-H Camp at Camp Bob Marshall Monday. She returned Thursday with four tired campers.

Walberg Robbins of California and Kristen Robbins of Colorado were dinner guests at the John Linn residence Friday night.

Ray Olsen and Clyde Arneson were dinner guests at the Morris Linn residence Monday night. On Tuesday Shirrise visited Jack and Cheryl Simons near Enning. Shirrise and Kassandra took the Pauley girls to Wall for gymnastics Wednesday, and visited Sanden and Elaine Simons on the way home. On Friday, the Morris Linns visited the “Big House” to see the Robbins’ before Shirrise and Kassandra left for Glenrock, WY to meet the nicely named Madalynn Magee, infant daughter of Jim and Jen Magee.

Bunny Pauley and the girls attended the State High School Rodeo on Saturday in Belle Fourche.

Myrna Smith attended the bridal shower for Lorinda Simon at the Wicksville Church Sunday afternoon.

John Tines, Amanda Humphrey and baby Lainee Mae were supper guests at the Cary Tines residence Tuesday night. Matt Trask visited Friday afternoon. On Sunday, Bud and Mattee Pauley and Morris Linn arrived at the Cary Tines residence to pick up the Tines’. They all then went to Wall, where they went golfing and had supper.

RoseMary and Maria Trask went to Rapid City on Monday. Jim McDougall and Amy were supper guests at the “Upland Trask” residence on Friday. On Sunday, Nick, Joe and Austin went to Wall to go swimming while Matt escorted the Dave Walters family of Michigan to a prairie dog town. Half a handful of the “Upland Trasks” met John Paul in Rapid City and played miniature golf afterwards.

Caroline Wilsey met Kelly Wilsey in Kennebec Tuesday to pick up Ben Wilsey, who spent the remainder of the week in Elm Springs. On Friday night, the Wilseys went to Wall to help Carol Price celebrate her birthday, and Saturday night they celebrated Jim’s birthday in Rapid City.

Kenny, Janet, Philip, Mary Kay and Patrick Wilson all went motorcycling in the Black Hills on Sunday. They also met Kevin and Joan Howland and family at Sheridan Lake.

Melvin and Dorothy Anderson entertained relatives from Arizona, Minnesota, Alaska and North Dakota. All of these arrived Wednesday, prior to the weekend Anderson family reunion held at Gulches of Fun near Deadwood, which they all attended.
