The weather here in Elm Springs was wet and cool until the weekend, when it warmed up nicely.
The kind citizens went to the polls on Tuesday, where they voted on school board members and a bond issue.
This week’s ESN is shortened by the fact that almost no one was home to report what they did.
Marvin and Carolyn Anders hosted Matt Trask for ice cream Wednesday night.
Rod and Kelly Anders and Louisa Lang attended Grady Matt’s birthday party at the Grady Matt residence Saturday, where Kelly beat Clint Hammerstrom at leg wrestling. Why exactly they were leg wrestling is anybody’s guess.
Lawrence and Doris Burke were visited by Clyde Arneson Friday morning, went to Rapid City Saturday, where Lawrence attended a gun show and Doris went shopping, and were visited by Matt Trask and his guitar Saturday night.
Peggy Gravatt joined a group of people who went to Pierre Saturday, to surprise Connie Mickelson with their attendance at a luncheon and ceremony where Mrs. Mickelson was honored as the elementary history teacher of the year by the South Dakota Historical Society.
Clyde Arneson accompanied Morris and Andy Linn to the Baker bull sale near St. Onge Monday. Clyde accompanied Morris to the Trask/Shearer bull sale Wednesday, while Andy visited the Jim Smith residence.
John and Jean Linn visited the Brett and Charlotte Wilsey residence Wednesday.
Matt Trask was a visitor at the Morris Linn residence Monday night. On Thursday, Kassandra went to gymnastics in Wall with the Pauley girls, and Shirrise visited the Peg Ireland residence for supper. Kassandra spent Saturday afternoon at the “Big House.” Nick Trask was a supper guest at the Morris Linn residence Saturday night. On Sunday, the Morris Linns attended an Easter celebration at the Bummer and Jodi Simons residence in Enning, with all of the Simons, Grandma’s Margaret and Arlene, Dayton Shannon, Deb, Amber and Jaren Brookman, Jaren’s girlfriend Amanda Bunge, and son Dillon.
Cary and Pam Tines attended Delynn Willis’ birthday party at the Ronny and Joan Racicky residence Friday evening, in the company of Delynn’s extended family. Clay Tines and Matt Trask showed up a little later.
Steph and Julie Trask left the “Upland Trask” residence Monday morning, and John Paul left Monday evening. Pat made a business trip to east river South Dakota Wednesday and Thursday. Pat and RoseMary went to Rapid City on business Friday, picking up Autumn Deering on the way home. Autumn spent the weekend at the “Upland Trask” residence visiting Celine, and on Sunday several Trasks and Deerings went to Wall for ice cream.
Mark and Mick Trask went to Brookings over the weekend with the Philip FFA delegation.
Matt Trask attended the Wasta Fourth of July meeting at the Senior Center on Sunday, and on the way home, stopped to bother people at the Laura Jean Gunn residence and the Malcolm Price residence.
Jim Wilsey was a supper guest at the Melvin and Dorothy Anderson residence Tuesday night. Caroline Wilsey returned from Oklahoma City, OK on Wednesday. Jim and Caroline went to Belle Fourche on business Friday.
The Elm Springs Church will hold it’s next service on the 22nd of April at two pm.
