Here in Elm Springs the weather tried very hard to change, with some success, most notably a drop in temperature and a vicious attack of the North Wind.

Many of the kind citizens, in addition to people from elsewhere, attended the Jerry Glade funeral in Rapid City and burial at the Elm Springs Cemetery Thursday.

The People Who Play Cards assembled for their last game of the season Wednesday, at the John Linn residence. The very imaginative People dubbed this occasion Hawaiian night, and tried with varying degrees of enthusiasm to dress accordingly. The season’s winners were; Norma Pellegrin, 1st; Carolyn Anders, 2nd; Clyde Arneson, 3rd; John Linn, 4th; and the booby prize went to Andy and Kellie Linn.

The biggest news of the week at the “Upland Trasks” was the return on Thursday of Steph and Julie from Ireland, where they had spent over a week. Several other “Upland Trasks” were heard to comment that it was about time the two girls shouldered a “wee bit o’ responsibility” at home.
