The Elm Springs News

Here in Elm Springs, the weather refuses to be anything but beautiful, while wintertime paraphernalia rots away in garages and attics all over the community.

Kind citizen Jerry Glade was taken from this life too soon in a vehicular accident Thursday night.

Janet Wilson hosted a meeting of the WTL Club at her home Monday. Members in attendance were Jean and Shirrise Linn, Marilyn Larson, Caroline Wilsey, Sandy Fields, Lorraine Venhuizen, Shelia Trask, and Linda Tift.

The kind Catholic citizens of Elm Springs joined their former sister parish, St. Johns in New Underwood, for the annual Parish Carnival Saturday night, where great family fun was had by all.

Marvin and Carolyn Anders attended the Milesville community play Saturday night.

Lawrence Burke attended the antique auction in Rapid City Sunday.

Ryan and JJ Elshere and Brandon West went to Valley City, ND on Saturday for a rodeo.

Larry and Peggy Gravatt went to Rapid City Saturday to watch grandkids Madi and Steele at ice skating practice. Afterwards, they went out for lunch and then to Elm Springs.

Andy and Kelli Linn and children were visitors at the “Upland Trasks” Thursday.

Brett, Katie, and Laura Wilsey were afternoon guests at the “Big House” Saturday.

The Morris Linns, two weeks absent from the ESN, return in a big way, with a four day jaunt through the state of Wyoming, accompanied part of the way by Jim, Jen and Cameron Magee of Glenrock.

Matt and Joe Trask were visitors at the Cary Tines residence Wednesday night. Sunday John Tines and Amanda Humphrey visited.

The “Upland Trasks” had a big week, with a Farm Bureau meeting on Monday night, and numerous visitors throughout the week. Matt, in particular, came roaring back to life with a trip to Rapid City on Tuesday, where he conducted some business of sorts, and then met with Rob Goodman of Belvidere and Andrea Neuman of Rapid City for lunch, a stop at the “Brustol AFB” Saturday to visit the recuperating Dara Wrachford; as luck would have it, just in time for snacks; a visit to the New Underwood Tines residence Saturday night, for cake, and a Sunday afternoon tour of Wall with stops at the Tom Shull residence for cookies and the Big Green Trask House for supper. It is plain to see that Matt has not lost his touch, or his appetite.

Tom Wilsey of Tea was an overnight guest of Jim and Caroline Wilsey Thursday. Chuck and Sammie Wilsey and Gale and Cliff Keyser were Saturday visitors at the Wilseys

Dara Wrachford, steadily improving at the “Brustol AFB,” hosted a steady stream of helpers and well wishers, hopefully more sincere than Matt Trask, over the week.

The kind citizens of Elm Springs wish you more seasonable weather, if only for your sanity.
