As the Holiday Season approaches a boil, Elm Springs and the surrounding area received a healthy blanket of snow Friday night and Saturday morning.

The Country Red Hat Ladies went to Rapid City Wednesday to tour the Old Governor’s Mansion. CRH on the trip were Jean and Kellie Linn, Sandy Fields, Caroline Wilsey, Carolyn Anders, Twila Trask, Dorothy Anderson, Maxine Smith, Peggy Gravatt, Norma Pellegrin, Linda Tift, Betty Carlson and her two daughters-in-law. After the tour, several of the CRH went to visit Judith Olsen at Westhills Village.

On Saturday, Sandy Fields, Peggy Gravatt, and Jean and Kassandra Linn boarded the Wasta Pie Bus for the annual holiday trip to Pierre. Incidentally, they were given a tour of the New Governor’s Mansion.

Matt Trask visited the Clyde Arneson residence Thursday night to help Clyde watch the NFR and drink egg nog.

Paul and Joy Elshere of Philip visited the Ryan Elshere residence one day, possibly last week. Jim and Lana Elshere of Midland visited the Ryan Elshere residence Monday for sure. On Saturday, the Ryan Elsheres met the JJ Elsheres, the Bill Eastmans, and Marcia Arneson at the Watiki Waterpark in Rapid City, where they spent the afternoon Watikiing around.

Brad Bookbinder visited the Larry Gravatt residence Saturday to help with the addition.

The Sam Johnstons took Austin Trask with them to the Wall Eagles basketball game in Philip. Wall won both games, and Austin and Calder Johnston got to play quite a bit. The Ryan Elsheres visited the Sam Johnston residence Sunday evening, bringing supper with them to help Cary celebrate her birthday.

JW and Dara Wrachford were supper guests at the Morris Linn residence Monday night. Morris hosted an NFR party Wednesday night. Bunny Bail and the girls were Thursday night guests at the Morris Linns to watch the NFR. Gene Hortness of Gettysburg was a Friday afternoon visitor, and Matt arrived Friday night to help Kassandra hang decorations on the Morris Linn Christmas tree and watch the NFR. On Saturday, Morris Linn and Scott Simons picked up Matt Trask at his house on their way to Rapid City, where they did some Christmas shopping before meeting Roger Shull and Gene and Rory Pluth at the Elk Creek Steakhouse for the annual trip to Deadwood, which fell on Morris’ actual birthday this year. Morris, Matt and Scott returned Sunday about noon, while Shirrise attended a stamp party at the Dana Keffeler residence. Melissa Byrne of Viewfield visited the Morris Linns Sunday afternoon, and Nick Trask visited Sunday evening.

John Tines, Amanda Humphrey, Lainee Mae, and Truette Northup visited the Cary Tines residence Saturday afternoon. Dennis and Tanya Jensen and Treshelle Hall and kids visited the Cary Tines residence Sunday afternoon while out cutting Christmas trees.

Julie Trask left Tuesday for Ft. Collins, CO, to finish school. RoseMary and Maria Trask attended the Wall Lady Eagles basketball game in Wall Tuesday night. Nick attended the Dieter Brothers sale in Faulkton Wednesday, returning in time to join Pat and Steph at the Ag Appreciation banquet in Rapid City Thursday. Joe Trask went to Rapid City Saturday with Baxter Anders to take the ACT tests. Nick Trask spent Saturday and Sunday with Natasha Bentz of Billings MT, in Rapid City and the Black Hills. In addition to driving around, they met up with the Morris Linn party in Deadwood and visited Darci McManigal in Rapid City. Sunday visitors at the “Upland Trask” residence were Randy and John Rapp and Todd Jacquot, all of Rapid City.

Philip and Mary Kay hosted the First Lutheran Church of Wall choir for a Christmas party Sunday

Terry and Cheryl Hammerstom of Hereford are pleased to announce the birth of twin grandsons Tate Terry and Tanner Daniel Grabow, born November 29th to Todd and Tessa Grabow. The pair were born one month early, but are doing well.

Don’t forget the Elm Springs Christmas program on Monday, December 17th at 5:30 pm at the Elm Springs Hall.

The kind citizens would like to extend their sympathies to Jeff Willert, whose femur was broken by a klutzy bronc in round 2 of the NFR.
