The weather in this weeks ESN was as unremarkable as the news itself, because not much happened in either department. Sunday was cold and windy.

The Elm Springs People who Play Cards met Wednesday at the Elm Springs Fire Hall for the February card game, hosted by Lawrence Burke and Clyde Arneson. Jim Smith got the high score and Marvin Anders and Julie Trask, playing for Morris Linn, tied for the booby prize.

Marvin and Carolyn Anders went to Sturgis Tuesday, spending Tuesday night at the Wilbur Bachand residence and returning Wednesday.

Clyde and Connie Arneson went to Philip Tuesday for business and supper. Clyde visited the Andy Linn residence Sunday night for supper and cribbage.

Lawrence and Doris Burke had supper in Union Center to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The Sam Johnstons attended a Wall Eagles basketball game in Wall Friday night, and Saturday they attended a Rural Basketball game in Lemmon before hustling to Newell to catch another Wall Eagles basketball game Saturday night. These parents should have spectator practice.

The Bob Campbell family of McIntosh arrived at the Andy Linn residence Thursday and spent Thursday night. The Andy Linns attended the Rural Basketball game in Lemmon Saturday.

Morris Linn left Monday morning in the company of Gene Pluth for Iowa. Kassandra accompanied John and Jean to the Wall basketball game in Wall Tuesday night. Clyde Arneson and Lawrence Burke were Wednesday morning coffee visitors at the Morris Linn residence and Shirrise and Kassandra met Morris and Sandy Van Vleck for supper in Wall Wednesday night. Gene Hortness was a Thursday coffee visitor at the Morris Linns. On Friday, Morris and Shirrise accompanied Cary and Pam Tines to several towns, and finally to supper in Wasta, while Kassandra spent the night at the Bunny Bail residence. Clyde Arneson and Nick Trask were coffee visitors at the Morris Linn residence Sunday, and Matt and Nick Trask were supper guests.

Valentine’s Day is Mayzee Pauley’s birthday, and she celebrated with several of her friends and Jim and Caroline Wilsey in attendance.

Andrew Smith arrived at the Jim Smith residence from Pierre Friday to spend the weekend.

Morris Linn, Clyde Arneson and Bunny Bail were Thursday morning coffee visitors at the Cary Tines residence. Coby Tines arrived at the Cary Tines residence Friday from Wyoming to spend the weekend.

Al and Bridget Trask celebrated Valentine’s Day in Rapid City. Rod, Kelly and Jonnie Jo Anders and Nick Trask had supper at Al and Bridget’s Castle Sunday night.

Nick and Steph Trask spent Monday and Tuesday in Pierre, staying Tuesday night at the Britney Beastrom residence. On Wednesday, Nick helped Steph move most of her effects to her new house in Rapid City, where she stayed off and on for the remainder of the week. Emil Magnuson and Frieda Tibbitts visited the “Upland Trask” residence Friday afternoon, and Matt and Maria Trask attended the Wall Eagles basketball game in Wall Friday night. On Saturday, John Paul and Matt went to Ft. Pierre to watch Joe Trask and the Wall Eagles wrestling at the Regional Tournament. John Paul, Matt and Joe had supper with Fr. Brian Christansen in Ft. Pierre. John Paul left Sunday morning for Winona, MN.

Janet and Kelli Wilson attended the State Gymnastics Tournament in Brookings on Saturday.

The Josh Wolberg family of Minneapolis MN arrived at the Philip Wilson residence to spend the weekend Friday. Patrick Wilson visited Saturday to see his niece and nephew.

And thats about it. The kind citizens hope you’re staying warm!
