The merry South Dakota breeze was present most of the week to caress the faces of the kind citizens.

Wednesday was Halloween in Elm Springs and everywhere, and the children dressed up to be carted from house to house by their parents for a bag full of upset stomach. Most of them did a very good job.

Marvin and Baxter Anders visited the Schell ranch near Wasta on Friday, and Baxter and Rod visited again Sunday.

Lawrence and Doris Burke went to Rapid City Monday for appointments. On Friday, they picked niece Jessie Burnham of San Diego, CA up at the Rapid City Regional Airport and took her to lunch in Rapid City. Saturday visitors were coffee guest Clyde Arneson and hunters Melissa Burke and Stacey Ritter of Rapid City.

Ryan and Chrissy Elshere left their kids at the Marcia Arneson residence in Rapid City and returned to Elm Springs where they donned Halloween costumes. They were joined by Sam and Cary Johnston and Matt Trask, dressed as a chauffeur, to attend the Halloween party in Philip. Ryan and Chrissy returned to Rapid City Sunday to pick up their kids.

The Larry Gravatts hosted Grady Matt for dinner Wednesdy and Tom Trask for dinner Thursday. Marvin and Carolyn Anders were Friday evening visitors at the Larry Gravatt residence, and Brad Bookbinder spent Saturday. Larry and Peggy went to Rapid City Sunday to visit Jack Gravatt.

Rick Johnston left Shania to visit her cousins Saturday at the Sam Johnston residence, and returned to pick her up Saturday evening.

John, Jean and Jim Linn and the Andy Linns spent the weekend in Bismark, ND attending the wedding of Tom Linn to Kristen Taylor. All of the Linns returned Sunday evening.

Morris Linn went to Rapid City Tuesday, where he met with Gene Pluth. The Morris Linns returned to Rapid City Thursday to visit Grandma Arlene Talley. Nick Trask visit the Morris Linn residence Saturday. On Sunday, Shirrise went to a stamp party near Union Center, while Morris and Kassandra visited Al and Bridget’s Castle. The Al Trasks decided to return the favor, and visited the Morris Linns Sunday evening. Matt Trask also visited at this time.

Clyde Arneson and Morris Linn were both coffee visitors at the Cary Tines residence during the week, but no one can remember for sure which days. Kyle Scott of Rapid City was a Thursday night guest at the Cary Tines residence. Max and Sarah Miller of Douglas, WY arrived to spend the weekend at the Tines’, and Sunday guests were John Tines, Amanda Humphey, Lainee Mae and Samantha Scott of New Underwood.

The Al Trasks visited the “Upland Trask” residence Thursday evening to celebrate Bridget’s Sunday birthday in the additional company of Ray Olson. Bridget and Little Pat attended a Saturday baby shower for Taryn Yantes at the Chris Simmons residence in Rapid City.

Philip Wilson was a Tuesday morning visitor at the “Upland Trask” residence. Pat went to Regent ND Wednesday on business. Steph left Wednesday night for Chamberlain, where she spent the weekend at a pheasant hunting lodge. Mark, Mick and Tyler Trask visited Thursday evening, and Dunbar Anders spent Thursday night at the “Upland Trask” residence, and several of the Bruchs of Bear Butte visited Friday evening. Morris Linn and Patrick Wilson visited the “Upland Trask” residence Saturday evening. Sunday afternoon, after the St. Margaret’s Rosary Walk to the Elm Springs cemetery, Fr. Leo Hausmann, Darlene Wulf, Bart Williamson and the Al Trasks were all dinner guests at the “Upland Trask” residence.

Tyler Trask of Wasta was a weekend guest at the “Elk Creek Trask” residence.

Jim and Caroline Wilsey went to Sturgis on business Wednesday, and Rapid City Thursday.

Philip and Mary Kay Wilson, and Kenny, Janet and Kellie Wilson were joined by Pam Wilson in Hoven for a weekend of pheasant hunting.

Melvin and Dorothy Anderson went to Rapid City Thursday evening to help grandson Taylor celebrate his nineteenth birthday with his brother Ryan at Applebee’s. Dorothy left for Miles City MT over the weekend to visit the John Kraft family, while Melvin attended the Saturday funeral of Berta Palmer in Faith.

The kind citizens hope you can stay out of the merry breezes.
