The Elm Springs News
October 2, 2006
Occasionally there are weeks when hardly any of the kind citizens are home to report what they did. Such was the case this week, so we’ll have to make do with what we got.
The weather did it’s part to make country living wonderful, although toward the end of the week it got a touch warm.
The WTL Club met Monday at the Lorraine Ven Huizen residence. Members present besides Lorraine were Jean, Shirrise and Kellie Linn, Catherine and Linda Tifft, Dorothy Anderson, Caroline Wilsey, Sandy Fields, Margee Willey and Bridget Trask.
The Elm Springs Rebels Basketball teams, under the direction of Sam Johnston and Andy Linn, had their first games against the Opal teams Thursday evening in Union Center. Out of four games, Elm Springs lost one.

Marvin and Carolyn Anders went to Rapid City on business Thursday, and fed Matt Trask cookies at their house Sunday night.

JW and Dara Wrachford are now retired from the U.S. Air Force, with an official retirement ceremony on Thursday at Ellsworth AFB and an unofficial ceremony Saturday night in New Underwood. Both were well attended. A newly aquired rooster now calls reveille at the “Brustol AFB.” Sean Troxel and Clay Tines made a trip to Rapid City Friday.

The kind citizens hope your weather has been as nice as theirs.
