Thanksgiving Blessings
The Faith Independent this week ran a charming little piece recognizable to any reader of a small town newspaper: “What the first graders are thankful for.” One student submitted the following-
“I am thankful for food and water because I need it to survive. I am thankful for my house because it keeps my family safe. I am thankful for my church because it keeps God safe.”
I am sure that God is thankful as well.

Pretty much sums it up, doesn’t it? My daughter’s class had a bulletin board outside with these and there was one like this there, but at the end, in smaller letters, the kid had added, “And I am thankful for video games because I get to control EVERYONE!”

Wow — that gives the people of the church a new perspective on their role in the world …
