Oh What Fun

Conversations

I’m almost 99% sure that I will spend the next two days as a guest on the annual Saddletramp Ride.

The forecast?  40% chance of rain today, tonight and tomorrow.  It rained about half of yesterday, and all night last night.  I discovered this morning (we haven’t had a prolonged rainy spell here for a long long time) that if it rains long enough, the water will come through my back door.

I can’t even say that I got into this by accident, like I normally would.  No sirree, I got myself into this on purpose.  And I really should have known better.  The last time I went on a camping trip, I got to sleep through a blizzard outside.  Well I tried to sleep through a blizzard, that’s more accurate.  I was only out 12 hours, and my camping partners got to looking real tasty.

So wish me luck, but don’t bother feeling sorry for me, because whatever discomfort I experience I had comin’.

Sounds like great fun … remember the samurai logic — or the old saw, “Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he will not be disappointed.”

Have not commented on here yet but I am a friend of the Dennis family and also Jim Thorp. Have taken a peek at your site a few times. Anyway wanted to tell you I like the new “look” and to enjoy camping. I have camped in snow, rain, wind and with wolves howling not far (not at the same time of course). I just always expect an adventure goes along with the word “camp”. Enjoy the outdoors.

Good luck, I guess. Why is it I feel like no matter how little you expect, if you’re drenched and miserable, you’ll be disappointed, and cursing the rain, the samurai, and possibly Jim?

Jacqui you seem to know me quite well, throwing the samurai into the list of people to curse lol!
I usually try to include a dog, cause somebody’s got to shoulder the blame…
