Joke of the Day
Fifteen days in the saddle with 300 other people gave me an excellent opportunity to dig up all my favorite jokes! We’ll start with the trailride favorite-
Ole answered an ad in the Farmer & Rancher exchange about an ‘M’ tractor for sale down by Scenic, SD. He went to Scenic, decided to buy the tractor, loaded it up and headed out. On his way through Scenic, he decided to stop at the bar.
Ole was drinking a Grain Belt Premium when this Indian at the bar moved his stool over. “Hey,” said the Indian “I’ve got a riddle for you. If you can guess the riddle, I’ll buy you a beer, and if you can’t then you gotta buy me a beer.”
“Gee golly dere, ya dat sounds good, Mr. Indian,” said Ole. “Whats da riddle dere, say?”
“My mother and my father had one child,” began the Indian, “it wasn’t my brother and it wasn’t my sister. Who was it?”
Ole thought and thought. Finally he gave up. “Gee golly dere, Mr. Indian, I don’t know. Who was it, say?”
“It was me!” said the Indian. “Buy me a beer.”
“Ha ha ha,” said Ole. “It wass you dere, wassen’t it?” Ole bought him a beer and drove back to Fargo.
The next day when Ole went to the watering hole in Fargo, there was Sven drinking a Grain Belt Premium. “Ha ha ha, I’m gonna git dat dere Sven,” thought Ole.
“Say dere Sven, I’ve got da riddle for ya,” Ole said with a smirk on his face. “If you can guess da riddle, den I’ll buy you a beer, and if you can’t, why den you gotta buy me a beer.”
“Ya dere, Ole, dat sounds good,” said Sven. “What’s da riddle dere, say?”
“My mudder and my fadder had one child,” began Ole. “It wassen’t my brudder and it wassen’t my sister. Who wass it dere, say?”
Sven thought and thought and thought. Finally, he gave up.
“Gee golly, dere Ole, I don’t know” said Sven. “Who wass it?”
With a look of triumph on his face, Ole exclaimed, “Twas some Indian sittin at da bar in Scenic, SD!”

The Indian was the elder President Bush. The joke was to show the Russian people’s contempt for the slow-pace of reform in Russia, I gathered …
