Hubba’s House

In Pictures; The Oxygen Kid

The Junk Drawer

Bob Bosse of South Dakota Public Television wanted some old pictures of me for his Dakota Life segment (which should be out in May, by the way.)  I had been meaning for quite some time to find old photos and learn how to run the scanner, and this was the perfect opportunity.

I can now add ’scanner’ to the list of technological devices with which I have a tumultuous relationship.  But I got all the pictures scanned so I may as well share a few with you.

It truly is a shame what happened to this little guy…

A darling version of me in 1986. I was always a cowboys fan, both the people and the team.

See? I had a horse and an oxygen hose that doubled as a rope. I was never any better with a real rope than I was with the oxygen hose.

Me and my great Uncle William Warren O'Connell. If it wasn't for him and one other someone, I probably still wouldn't be walking today.

Here's the other someone. My mentor, best friend and the closest thing to a big brother I ever had, Big Dan.

My junior prom date, Ms. Kayla Schearer, now Mrs. Kayla Eimers. (I didn't even kiss her JimBob.)

The whole fam-damily, ten years ago. Left to right, as best as I can: Joe, Austin and Gemma on an elderly Dan, John Paul and Al, Becky right smack in the center, Steph on a completely unremarkable horse, Dad, Mom holding Maria, me on Butch, and Julie holding a baby Carl.

You can see what I mean by “tumultuous relationships.” I never know what these things are going to look like until I hit “Publish”
