The Elm Springs News

Occasionally groups of kind citizens attend outside social functions in such small numbers that they do not warrant being called “several.”
So it was this week, as some of the kind citizens attended the funeral of Elizabeth “Gammies” Shearer in Wall on Thursday, some of the kind citizens attended the RDO customer appreciation lunch in Rapid City on Friday, some of the kind citizens attended the Wall Eagles basketball game in Wall Friday night, and some of the kind citizens attended the Meade County Ag Appreciation banquet in Sturgis on Saturday night.
The only thing that “several” of the kind citizens attended was the pesticide applicator recertification seminar held at the Elm Springs Fire Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Redneck fun, woohoo!
Marvin and Carolyn Anders visited the Bill Abbott residence near Valentine, NE Tuesday, staying all night and returning Wednesday.
And Clyde Arneson had a busy week, for Clyde. He and Connie visited Ray and Millie Schmidt in Belle Fourche on Monday. Wednesday, Danny Arneson of Red Owl was a dinner guest at the Clyde Arneson residence. And Saturday, Clyde and Connie made a business trip to Faith.
In addition, Clyde was a coffee visitor Tuesday morning at the Lawrence Burke residence.
Andy and Ben Linn flew to Denver, CO on Thursday, where they were met by Kellie, who was already there. They spent the weekend in Denver watching the Colorado State High School wrestling tournament, where Kellie’s nephews competed. They returned Sunday.
Emily and Jacob Linn spent the weekend at the “Big House.”
Shirrise Linn had supper in Union Center Monday night with Jack and Cheryl Simons. Kassandra visited the “Big House” Tuesday afternoon, and Clyde Arneson was a supper guest at the Morris Linn residence Tuesday night. Emily and Jacob Linn were after school visitors at the Morris Linn residence Thursday afternoon. Clyde Arneson and Bunny Bail and girls were supper guests at the Morris Linn residence Friday night. Kassandra visited the “Big House” again Saturday afternoon while Shirrise attended a stamp party in Marcus. The Morris Linns and the Bails went to Deadwood Sunday night to spend the night.
Morris Linn was a coffee guest at the Cary Tines residence Wednesday. The Cary Tines’ spent Saturday working on their house in Wasta, with help from Morris Linn, among others. Matt Trask was a coffee visitor at the Cary Tines residence Sunday morning.
Matt Trask was a supper guest at Al and Bridgets Castle Wednesday night.
Nick, Steph and Julie Trask, accompanied by Tom Bruch of Sturgis, left for Omaha NE, Wednesday to attend the R-CALF convention. They returned Sunday night.
While they were gone, visitors to the “Upland Trask” residence included Joe Carter of Custer, who spent the weekend, Coby Tines and Ray Olsen.
Matt Trask was a dinner guest at the Brett Hansen residence near New Underwood Sunday.
Josh and Amy Wolberg and family left the Philip Wilson residence for Minneapolis, MN Monday. Philip Wilson visited the Jay Price residence near Viewfield on Saturday.
The kind citizens hope you have a fabulous week.
