ESN; Homecoming!
After several days of fall-like weather, Saturday and Sunday were roasty-toasty.
High School sports practice has begun, and several kind young citizens duly trudged off Monday, to begin the dreaded two-a-days.
The “Upland Trasks” hosted a GF&P/ landowner meeting and supper at their place Thursday night. Steve Griffin and Mike Kintigh of Rapid City and Matthew Talbot of New Underwood joined a host of kind citizens there.
Marvin and Carolyn Anders, accompanied by Dunbar, went to Rapid City on business Thursday. Sunday, Jay and Pam Livermont of Interior were guests at the Marvin Anders residence.
Clyde and Chase Arneson visited the Lawrence Burke residence “one day earlier in the week.” Russell Burmeister of Wall and Norm Current of Wasta visited precisely on Sunday.
The Gravatts enjoyed a somewhat more sedate week. Peggy went to Rapid City Monday to take Ray Jondro out to lunch. Larry and Peggy visited the “Elk Creek Trask” residence Friday evening. On Sunday, Larry and Peggy attended the Madison Ranch Bed and Breakfast grand opening before toodling leisurely through the Black Hills and ending up in Deadwood. They put their money down on an ice cream cone, which is a sure bet anywhere.
The Sam Johnstons and their horses went to Ft. Pierre over the weekend to compete in the State Finals 4-H rodeo. They returned Sunday afternoon.
The Andy Linns left Tuesday for Mitchell to attend Dakota Fest, returning Wednesday. Andy Linn visited the Matt Trask residence Saturday afternoon.
John and Jean Linn left Monday for Dakota Fest, returning Friday afternoon.
Kassandra Linn visited the “Upland Trask” residence Tuesday afternoon. On Thursday, Shirrise and Kassandra left for Rapid City, where they took entries in the Stamp competition at the Central States Fair. They stayed overnight at the Gene and Marsha Pluth residence and worked the Fair again on Friday. Sunday, the Scott Simons’, the Sanden Simons’, and Jack Simons all visited the Morris Linn residence.
Pat and Celine Trask left the “Upland Trask” residence Monday, ostensibly to visit the convent in Alexandria and to pick up a team of horses, Amos and Andy, from Ft. Pierre. They returned Monday night with Amos and Andy and Becky Trask, much to everyone’s astonishment. Becky is home for good, and Matt is loving the cooking. Visitors for the week at the “Upland Trask” residence included Sally Mickelson, Muriel Kjerstad, and others. Julie Trask left Wednesday for Ft. Collins CO to begin school, and John Paul left Saturday for Winona, MN for the same purpose. Several of the “Upland Trasks” attended either the wedding or reception of Amy Scull in Rapid City on Saturday, staying all night at the Steph Trask residence Saturday night. Several of the “Upland Trasks” went to Rapid City to celebrate Joe’s birthday Sunday evening.
Matt Trask went to Rapid City Saturday to meet and interview George McGovern.
Jim and Caroline Wilsey returned Thursday from Greensboro, NC where they had delivered Zack to his parents.
The Kenny Wilsons visited the Justin Tschetter residence near Rapid City Saturday to celebrate Logan Tschetter’s first birthday.
And the Philip Wilsons returned Monday from the confusingly named Wyoming, MN where they had attended Beth Wilsons wedding. Amy, Mary and Sam Wolberg followed them back to Elm Springs and stayed until Sunday afternoon.
The Elm Springs Church will begin regular services on Sunday, August 30th at 2 pm, and every other week thereafter.
The kind citizens would like to welcome Becky Trask home!
