The ESN; Mother’s Day
Elm Springs received two more rainshowers during the week, with end of the week moisture totals at 1.73 inches, much to the relief and delight of the kind citizens.
All the moisture made travel difficult again, but the roads had dried out enough by Sunday that the kind mothers could be wined and dined somewhere for Mother’s Day.

In ways, it was a hell of a week in Elm Springs. The week began with a bang which woke the residents of the “Brustol AFB” in the Monday morning darkness. They hastily donned makeshift costumes to hurry outside and watch rather helplessly as their barn burned down, with several important pieces of equipment inside. The Elm Springs Fire Department couldn’t do much more than arrive on the scene. Thankfully, no men, women or beasts were harmed.

For no particular reason, the kind citizens just didn’t do much socializing this week. Perhaps they were resting up before May begins.
Several of the kind citizens attended the Dave Stover auction near Owanka on Saturday.
And at least one kind citizen attended the Sundquist/Brown auction in Wall on Saturday.

The kind citizens were a little disappointed in the less than stellar effects of last week’s rain and snow. This week brought balmy and windy weather, which really didn’t help anything.
A crew of kind citizens and others began residing the Elm Springs Hall this week, and are already half done.
Several of the kind citizens attended the Cammack Ranch Supply Open House in Union Center either Thursday or Friday.

After last weekend’s snowstorm, Elm Springs received some form of moisture every day until Thursday afternoon. The final total was somewhere around an inch and a quarter of precipitation, and the kind citizens breathed a huge sigh of relief.
As a testament to how dry it is, by Sunday, vehicles were once again kicking up dust around Elm Springs.
