Buried!
By now anyone who is keeping up on Western South Dakota knows that a raging 36 hour blizzard kissed us goodbye yesterday afternoon.
We’re still digging out, and it’s not pretty.
On the plus side, it never got very cold and we didn’t lose electricity.
On the minus side, we’re getting reports of buried cattle. We hope most of the reports are exaggerated, but we do know of one cow of ours who was buried and died.
I would provide pictures and a video, but I haven’t had time. It took me forty five minutes to drive home last night, and a half hour to get in the house.
Hopefully sometime today I’ll get a little time.
Adios until then.

Julie Trask visited the Marvin Anders residence Sunday, where she had a nice chat with Marvin, Carolyn, Baxter and Dunbar. (more…)

Horses I’ve Rode
As I’ve been working on this novel, it’s got me thinking about all the horses I’ve ridden over the years, and brought several stories to mind.
I think I’ve established before that I am not the world’s greatest cowboy. Somedays I feel like a disgrace to my hat. I have never left the barn with a string of ten horses and come back a week later for a new string. But I’ve ridden a few horses.
The following story should serve to illustrate this little series- (more…)
