The Elm Springs News

We began the week in Elm Springs with bitterly cold temperatures, but gradually it warmed until by the weekend, it was quite bearable.

Several of the kind citizens attended the JM Nachtigall Angus bull sale at the ranch near Wicksville on Monday.

Marvin and Carolyn Anders joined Twila Trask, and Kirk and Kathy Cordes of Rapid City for lunch in Rapid City Thursday before visiting a photography exhibit at the Dahl Fine Arts Center.

And the Anders’ cattle feeding contingent took a break from normal Sunday morning (more…)

The Elm Springs News

It was so cold in Elm SpringsĀ this week that the old timers weren’t even talking about how cold it had been one time when they were kids. That’s cold. The only measurable snowfall occurred on Sunday.

Several of the kind citizens attended the Wade Nyberg/Nina Wilburn wedding or reception or both Saturday evening in Wall.

And Sandy Fields, Jean Linn, Dorothy Anderson, Mary Kay Wilson and Darlene Wulf braved the cold Friday to attend the (more…)

The Elm Springs News

The first full week of 2008 turned out to be balmy and beautiful, which was nice.

The Elm Springs People Who Play Cards met at the Andy and Kellie Linn residence Wednesday, where they were greeted by Ben and Jacob Linn, who with their Christmas flashlights, served as traffic directors. When everyone was satisfactorily parked, they had a rousing court whist tournament. Myrna Smith got the high score for January and Lawrence Burke got the booby prize.

And several of the kind citizens attended the Wall Ag Appreciation banquet in Wall on Friday night, where they were entertained by humorist (more…)
